DP- Neighbors

When Hubs and I first got married ( a long time ago) we lived in a duplex and there were neighbors all around us. One neighbor had a German Shepherd who one day came up onto our porch and pulled my cat out of her igloo bed. I saw it happen. Thankfully she was ok. Another neighbor was always fighting with her 21 yr old son and they would just come over to our house and try to involve us in their drama. Yuck. I didn’t even know them and they’d just show up. What the ???

Thankfully we moved to the country and lived there for 20+ years. Didn’t have much trouble with the neighbors who were a fair distance away. Only interacted with them as needed. It was great.

Now, we’ve moved to a subdivision.  Having neighbors was a BIG question on the pros & cons of living here. If anyone has read much on this blog, they know I’m an introvert and I don’t like to mingle with people a whole lot. It’s been interesting, to say the least. There’s been the typical drama and who-did-what to whom that just makes me cringe. Reminds me of high school. I try my best not to get roped into it.

The demographic is probably 50/50 right now between people in their 20s & 30’s and people our age(50’s). All-in-all we have some pretty good neighbors. We’re surviving so far. There are still open lots by our house and I don’t know how it’ll be when those sell and we have neighbors right next door. Ugh. I don’t want to think about it.

So, I will close with this awesome meme that cracks me up every time!

  1. Great post! I love all the quotes too. There is a t-shirt that I saw on-line that I just have to get. It said: “Phew, that was close. I almost had to socialize!”

    1. Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it. That’s a great T-shirt! I’m thinking that would be a great sign on a gate at the driveway. Although I don’t have a gate. Man… I sound like an awful person. Hahaha!
