Me and He #1

So, I’ve been working on some little cartoons depicting some of the differences between me and my Hubs. It seemed appropriate to call the series “Me and He”.

Don’t get me wrong… I love my Hubs. Sometimes though, he makes me crazy and I truly wonder what planet he’s from. It’s been 33 years and I still haven’t figured it out. Some days I think he’s going to shed his human form and I’ll see his true alien self. I’ll be sure to let you know if that happens.

I’m fairly sure he thinks the same thing about me at times. Men have never been able to figure women out either. But anyway I thought I’d highlight some of these differences between men and women in a very general sense. I’ve only thought of a few. If you can think of some more, please let me know and I’ll see if I can figure out a cartoon for it.

The first one I came up with concerns cars. Mostly because he’d been talking about cars a LOT since we were stuck at home hiding from the COVID. I’ll admit I’ve learned some stuff. Although a lot of it just hits me like a mist and bounces right off. At the time, the item of his attention was a Dodge Challenger with a Hellcat engine. Now it’s something about how much money we would save with an electric Jeep. I can’t keep up.

  1. I just love this concept!! Reminds me of the book Men are from Mars, Women from Venus, do you know it?. I love your coloring and the way you used it for this idea. Sports are another topic. I know there are women sports fans, but the way men can gather together and have the commonality of sports is just amazing to me.

  2. I’m with you on a hubby that sometimes seems quite alien to me, mostly when he describes what he’s doing with computer programming or 3D printing techniques. I listen in awe because eventually the problem he’s working on works itself out as he rambles out the details. My technique has contributed to our 32 years together, IMHO. Adorable cartoons, you did a great job making them. I would have to see an electric car go from 0-60 in real life. How it would hold a charge after that would be impressive. 😉
